<description>This is a replica of an HH-46D Sea Knight search and rescue (SAR) helicopter. I flew these out of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, SC. It is often called a CH-47 Chinook, but is significantly different in size and capability and other minor, but distinguishable features. Among the differences are tricycle gear (46) vs. four struts (47), stub wings (the external tanks that the gear are mounted to (46) vice the longer sponsons (47), internal engines (46) vs. externally mounted engines (47). Thanks for the tribute to a great Marine aircraft. A lot of detail went into making this little RC like the original, so let&#039;s also stay true to the name.
